Spa Hop returned this year, and was better than ever. With branding already in place, the rest of the marketing materials quickly fell in line. We decided on an expanded 11×17 format for the event map. This provided room for a lot more businesses and information to be added. Another huge improvement was the Spa Hop scheduler, rebuilt from the ground up. Last year, the interface was quickly mashed together, and most of the functions were done directly through the database. This year, we scratched the entire format, registered a new domain, and built it from the start using the feedback generated from the salons after our first attempt. We’ll be dedicating an entire post to cover the scheduler. We think it can be rolled out to other areas looking into hosting their own Spa Event.

Continuing our success with Tribune Media, we were again selected to produce a postcard for an upcoming promotion for Young’s Appliances in nearby Glen Ellyn.

Blast! Fitness has been opening new clubs all over Chicago-land lately, and Instant Media was on board to help get their marketing efforts going. We were contracted by Tribune Media over a period of 3 months to turn out these seasonally themed postcards.

Here’s an entry that’s just for fun. My ultra-talented niece knows how to bake, and I have the waist-line to prove it. So, she’s decided she’s going to sell her wares at the local GCO Flooring Outlet in the Quad Cities, IA. She contacts me completely on her own and asks if I could create her a logo. Well, a couple hours later, we have a winner!

P.S. Flowers, located in Downtown Glen Ellyn is a custom silk floral and interior decorations store. We worked with owner Patty Sorenson to deliver the exact look and feel she was looking for. With a business that depends heavily on frequently updated images of her work, we were able to deliver a site with multiple image galleries divided into concise categories. Do you know where your visitors have been lately? We do. Well, we do if we’re managing your site. If not, you might not have a clue. Don’t think for a second that analytics are for big, Fortune 500 companies. Quite the contrary. Even if your site only has a few pages, wouldn’t you like to know how those visitors found you? What town they live in? How long they stayed and what page they were on when they left? This information could provide useful information to help you fine tune your marketing. This fact, combined with making sure your set text contains the correct search terms is really going to boost your ranking over time. Our advise is to make sure your webmaster has you hooked into analytics. If that’s not an option, or it’s going to require extra work on your part, it might be time to look around for a solution that can accomplish that goal. Sounds on the Street is the after party that wraps up Final Fridays in Downtown Glen Ellyn. For this campaign, we created artwork for print ads, a web banner, a small ad on Patch.com, and a vinyl banner posted at the Shell station on Park Ave. & Roosevelt Road.

Final Fridays in Downtown Glen Ellyn is a celebration of summer and is an open invitation for one and all. They are held on the last Friday of the months of June, July, and August.
